I love to write, but I would probably just keep my scribbling to myself if not for your encouragement. You have confirmed that stories bind us together as family and as friends. Stories heal. Ebb begins where and when Crossing ends. Jake pulls out of the cemetery and heads toward the Panhandle alone. Gray Boy is supposed to be with him, but well, you know Gray Boy. He stayed late and is on a Trailways bus back to the Marines. Jake meets interesting people and interesting weather on his trip. He finds the land and his new home harsh, barren, and hostile and suffers the worst humiliation of his life at a new and much bigger school. Just when he starts to love his new home, a darkness envelops the Rivers and Jake begins to find out things he would rather not know....
